What is a Ugandan Home Like?

This is the home of Anna and her grandmother, Jaja. They live on the outskirts of the capital, Kampala, in the village of Banunule.

Their home is simple, but functional, and built by Jaja from local materials. The walls are a mud and stick construction that gives strength, keeps the interior cool and could be sourced locally at no cost.

Anna and her grandma, Jaja, sit outside their home in Banunule

Inside their home there is a single room that is used for storage, living and sleeping. There is no electricity, piped water, toilet or bed.
