Roads and Road Travel

A street in the capital city, Kampala. Vehicles use the entire road width, almost regardless of direction of travel unless something larger is coming towards them. On the left is a bicycle being pushed, though you can't see the bike for the pile of boxes being carried on it. There are no road markings, no safety mesh round the construction site, pedestrians walk in the road with their backs to the traffic, and crash helmets are rarely seen.
